When black lives don’t matter
Black Coffee asks the question why black lives only seem to matter when it’s caused by a white person.
A black rapper was shot and killed by black men last week. Yet, I haven't heard one person mention black lives matter? Not one.
Why is it only when a black person is killed by a white person that black lives matter?
Black people don't put enough value on black lives, yet they expect the whole world to.
Every week, innocent black people are killed by other black people. Yet, there are no national and worldwide protests.
No marches. No speeches. Little to no media attention.
Why is that?
Besides race baiting by the media, that garners attention, which in this age translates to money.
Black people have become immune to black death. It's even become a lifestyle that has made many rappers and movie directors rich.
Listen to the average rap song. It's full of references to murder and death which continues to devalue black life and contributes to the high rates of violence, among black people and this is something that young black people consume daily.
