The Incel problem

The incel group was said to have been formed on the Internet by a teenager in the late 90s and quickly became an underground movement for mostly lonely socially awkward men who had trouble dating women.

As time went on, the incel group grew to became an online community of men and women offering support to one another and sharing tips and advice.

The people in the community used the word involuntary celibacy to describe their lack of sexual experience and failures with women, that was later was shortened to the term incel.

This community remained underground for years and didn't really grab the attention of the masses until a few self-confessed incels frustrated with their lack of success with women went on killing sprees targeting mainly sorority girls.

Today's incels are mostly angry men and boys posting on forums blaming women for their sexless lives.

As always, what was once an open-minded support group has changed into a place where praise for mass killers was tolerated, even normalized.
